Spitalfields residents, council taxpayers and those on the housing list were outraged by the conviction of 'Independent' Councillor for Spitalfields and Lutfur Rahman supporter Shelina Akhtar, on three counts of benefit fraud at Snaresbrook Crown Court, who has now trousered £1,085 in housing benefit and £29 in council benefit.
