What's labour doing for our jobs and homes?

These are what many of us are most worried about. Oli de Botton, who will stand for the Hitchin & Harpenden Parliamentary seat, says "families need help now, so that's why Labour is : * helping families to stay in their homes with extra mortgage protection * ensuring that many more homes are built for rent and low cost homebuy schemes * increasing working tax credit, child benefit and child tax credit * increasing pension credit and winter fuel payments * providing £1 billion for measures to help families on low and modest incomes to permanently cut fuel bills * raising the National Minimum Wage, which it introduced * protecting our savings, and ensuring banks carry on so we can pull out of the recession * helping people back into work with skills training, and guaranteeing a job or training place for 18-24s out of work for a year * providing more loans for small businesses * bringing forward projects to provide jobs now
