CLARIFICATION OF EMILY THORNBERRY'S VIEWS: Emily Thornberry has objected to our reporting of her stance on the Iraq War Inquiry in our recent publications. We are happy to clarify that she voted with the Labour Government in June 2007 and March 2009 for amendments which declined an immediate inquiry. The amendments proposed that an inquiry should take place at an indeterminate time after UK troops had been withdrawn.
