Time to tackle the housing crisis

1. Empty homes must be made available for local families. Absentee owners and investors should be penalised for leaving homes empty.

2. Developers must be required to build more 3-4 bedroom homes to help overcrowded families.

3. Leaseholders must have fair bills for major works and be given time to pay. Tenants must have fast, high quality repairs.

4. The Crown Estate freehold sell-off must be stopped. Permanently.

5. Planners must use realistic calculations of the numbers of children to provide play space.

6. We must have fair, open and transparent lettings and transfer policy.
