The biggest choice in a generation

This election sees the biggest choice between Labour, on the centre-left, and the Lib Dems and Tories, on the right, in a generation.

On the one hand, there is a Tory party which, beneath a mask of 'compassionate conservatism', opposed every measure to keep the economy going in the recession and which, with the Lib Dems, favours savage cuts to public spending. On the other hand, there's a Labour Party which, for all its faults, has a record to be proud of and strong plans for social justice in the future.
