Working for South Cambridgeshire and our NHS. Your local MP; your national voice

"What is good for the NHS nationally will also be great for South Cambridgeshire"

Andrew Lansley has put the future of the NHS at the heart of his personal priorities, in the preparation for a David Cameron-led government.

Andrew has been Shadow Secretary of State for Health for over six years. He has been responsible for the Conservatives becoming the most trusted party with the NHS. He has: • led plans to improve public health services and meet rising challenges like alcohol and druge abuse. He has pledged to increase NHS resources in real terms in each year of the next Parliament; • published plans to strengthen GP commissioning of local services and to increase patient's information and control over their care; and • promised to scrap top-down targets, to cut bureaucracy and enable health professionals to deliver the healthcare their patients need.

Your priorities are my priorities 1. My first priority is our NHS. [...] 2. South Cambridgeshire is my home and I want our quality of life to be among the very best. [...] 3. Our young people are our future. [...] 4. I believe in local democracy. [...] 5. Cambridgeshire can be a leader in environmental sustainability. [...]

What they say: Each year, 1400 constituents have brought their problems to Andrew and his team. [...]

Restoring local democracy [...]
