George Osborn

It is my job to get Britain's economy moving - and I want you to know how I plan to do it. We can't go on like this.

First, we have to get rid of wasteful government spending that simply burdens taxpayers - things like paying benefits to people who could and should be at work. Scrape ID cards.

Second, we all knwo tghat we are not going to be able to sort out Britain's debts and get our economy moving just by dealing with waste. There will be cuts in public spending.
